basics of operant conditioning


POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT

in a positive reinforcement a particular behavior is strengthened by the consequence of experiencing a psositive condition.


NEGATIVE REINFORCEMNT

In a negative reinforcement a particular behavior is strengthened by the consequence of stopping or avoiding a negative condition.


POSITIVE PUNISHMENT

in attempt to decrease the likehood of a behavior occuring in the future, an operant response is followed by the presentation of an aversive stimulus. this is well known as a positive punishment.


NEGATIVE PUNISHMENT
